The power of languages in the child development
Children are explorers by nature. Since they are born, every small stimulation becomes a big learning. Even the language spoken in the environment they live - though the adults sometimes don’t understand it in that way - transfigures directly in a continuous and daily learning process. Have you ever experienced in your family or observed in other families that period after a baby is born when sometimes there is a family impasse that the child’s parents try to induce him or her to replicate a specific word, like “mom” or “dad”? If you have you know that, even if it takes a few months, there is no doubt the child will do it, surprising and cheering everyone around. This reflects the admirable learning and reproduction capability that the little ones have and the ease to assimilate stimulation, things, actions, sounds, words and, consequently, languages!
The outcome is that studies state that the childhood is the ideal period to learn a new language because this is the main stage of life, when learning happens in a natural, gradual and very pleasant way, like in the reproduction of simple words like “mom” or “dad”. After all, each new discovery is a learning. Therefore, as well as the native language, a second one evokes even more the curiosity in children, mainly due to the many discoveries that the acquisition of another language provides to them, whether they are really young or entering the teenage years; it is not just words, a new language brings with it a new way to look at the world!
Overall the children’s curiosity is without a doubt one of the greatest advantages in encouraging language teaching to this audience, especially due to the ease they have in using technology to improve the use of this new language with assistance of animations, games and several other tools that stimulate and nurture this thirst for the new and for learning. Therefore, with playful classes and focus in encouraging the passion for the culture and a full learning of the language, we at Lume Languages will enter the adventure of this amazing journey with our little explorers! Fasten your seatbelts and prepare because we are entering this together!
