Discover here a few advantages that learning a new language brings
“Saudade”, “brainstorm”, “dépaysement”, “commuovere”, “Glückspilz” and “sobremesa” are a few words curiously untranslatable to other languages. In other words, there is no way to associate them to a specific word. To understand them you have to know how each one of them is used and if there are variations in the different countries where each language is spoken. These 6 words are just a few among the many exclusivities that learning Portuguese, English, French, Italian, German and Spanish reveals; they reflect the linguistic and cultural mysteries that each one of these languages offer! This happens because as Friedrich Schiller* well put, “the language is the reflex of a nation”, so that each language offers different opportunities to the lucky person that chooses to learn it.
Did you know, for instance, that by speaking English you can communicate to at least 30% of the world population? Have you ever imagined also traveling through the whole Latin America not worrying about language barriers? Or working in one of the many multinational German companies established in Brazil and in other countries around the world? Moreover, a very curious fact is that German is the second most spoken language in Brazil!
Have you ever imagined how indescribable it would be to venture in the academic universe at Université Paris, one of the best universities in the world where French is key? For the history and art lovers, speaking Italian makes it possible to know 75% of the world historical-cultural patrimony that is in Italy.
All this and much more is possible when we allow ourselves to learn a new language! Learning a new language opens unimaginable doors in several areas of our lives - whether they are personal, professional, academic etc. This amazing process mainly involves a cultural immersion that allows the student to venture in the countless mysteries that each nation - whose reflex is the language - has to offer.
What about you? Which language would you like to learn with us?
